Chocolate Cherry Cordial Fudge Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (almost 14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cherry liqueur (such as cherry brandy or maraschino)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (optional for extra crunch)
    pinch of salt

Instructions:

First of all, we need to prepare a 9×9 inch baking dish. You can prepare the bottom of the baking dish by covering it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it with butter. Thanks to the baking paper we grease, we prevent the cream from sticking to the pan.

Cook semisweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and has a smooth consistency. After the chocolate is completely melted, remove the pot from the stove and add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, and stir. These mixtures will increase the flavor of the confectionery and create a balanced taste thanks to salt and vanilla.

After preparing our chocolate in a medium-sized pot, now we are working with our dried cherries. Soak the dried cherries in the cherry liqueur for approximately 10-15 minutes. In this way, the delicious aroma of the liqueur will be transferred to the cherries and will add a different sweetness to the confection.

After thoroughly straining the cherries soaked in liqueur, dry them thoroughly with a paper towel. Then slowly add the cherries to the chocolate mixture so that they are homogeneously distributed.
Depending on your preference, mix previously chopped walnuts or almonds into the chocolate and cherry to give it a walnut flavor. Although adding walnuts and almonds is optional, if you want the marshmallows to be crispy, definitely do so.

Pour the resulting fudge mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and use a spatula to spread it evenly. Smooth the top of the mixture with the back of the spoon to create an even layer.

Our recipe is almost ready 🙂 Place the baking bowl in the refrigerator and start cooling the fudge in your fridge for at least 2-3 hours. In this way, your candy will harden and become easily sliceable.

Finally, remove the fudge from the refrigerator after it hardens. Transfer the fudge you took out of the refrigerator to a cutting board. Then cut it into rectangles or small squares with the help of a sharp knife.

Your chocolate cherry fudge recipe is already ready. Now you can enjoy it with a cup of coffee or cocoa. We are sure that from now on, the chocolate cherry fudge recipe will be at the top of your new dessert menu 🙂
